1. To answer this question in a short statement, I do not know if those around me are conscious human beings in one decisive manner. Some ways in which we could distinguish each other as humans or as machines can be no longer usable over time. In the movie, Ex Machina, Ava could be physically seen as a machine, for most of her ââ¬Å"skinâ⬠was transparent. This was then hidden by what I assume is synthetic skin, similar to the other A.I.s. So the visual component was then being put under question, for the outside appearance would seem just as human as someone you pass on a street. Which is why when the main character took a blade to himself, to see if he was machine underneath versus human, I could very much understand the needed reassurance. This physical aspect can be portrayed in many different scenarios but leads to a very unreliable test of who is human versus who is a machine. The next consideration to distinguish a machine is one having a fault in their thought process, or one revealing that they are programmed to think and feel. In the given article, Cronbachs Alpha of Scale was used thoroughly during the program that assessed the safety and validity analysis. Descriptive analysis was also done that was based on frequency range and percentage of demographic data was obtained from scale. In the second part of the survey, the questions were designed in a manner where the employees opinions were recorded about the motivation tools. The population sample was too big and receiving information from them was not possible, so the authors selecte d a sample from the big population. Three medium-scaled firms and 229 people filled the questionnaire at the textile industry. SPSS 20 packaged software was used for the data analysis regarding the research aim of motivation techniques implemented by managers to measure the efficiency of textile industry workers. The data was validated through safety and validity analysis and frequency variance. The sampling method was appropriate where the authors did not consider a large population and rather focused on a small population that was easy to survey. In another study conducted by Fiaz et al. (2017), this sampling method was used to study the impact of leadership style in motivating employees. This small group was helpful as it represented all categories of the participants and chose the best sample for the study from the entire population. Work experience and educational status is important for motivation, as employee would understand the techn ique well and affect their performance. According to Canrinus et al., (2012) participants who have more work experience and mean education is a result of self-efficacy that have an impact on the organizational behaviour. Another factor is the income group of the employees. In this, different motivation tools had an impact on the results of the study. As discussed earlier, the psychology tool was useful in influencing the low-income group as the psychosocial support provided by the workplace motivated them. In a similar manner, managerial and organization tools were also useful for motivating the employees. The managerial personality also plays an important role in the in motivating the employees. The managers who have a positive attitude towards motivating employees enhanced their efficiency at the textile industry. This shows that organizational behaviour plays an important role in motivating employees as positive working environment enhances employee retention as they feel motivated (Barrick, Mount Li, 2013). I think the research study clearly showed that motivation techniques enhanced employee efficiency and as a result, the organizational productivity. The managerial personal traits were also studied along with the perceptions of the employees regarding the motivation tools. When a manager motivates an employee in a positive manner, there inculcates a feeling of achievement in the employees to perform work and in recognizing their potential to perform a particular task (Grant, 2013). There is also possibility of further growth and achievement along with sense of responsibility and trust among the employees regarding their work performance. Managers have the potential to understand the personalities and individual hidden powers and therefore, they are the right person to make the employees motivated. In the similar manner, the study results showed that employees are motivated depending on the personal traits of the managers. Emotional stability, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness , customer service and optimism were the personality predictors that were identified by the study measuring the employee performance depending upon managerial performance (Taubman-Ben-Ari Yehiel, 2012). However, this was not included in the questionnaire and therefore, acted as a limitation of the study. The above discussion critically analysed the research study by Guclu and Guney (2017) regarding the motivation tools impact on the employee performance and productivity. My family and I were always really close to him and saw him practically everyday, so it was very hard for us when we were informed that he had cancer. After he was diagnosed, Papa and Nanny, my grandmother, decided to move in with us and build onto our home. Seeing him and spending time with him every day was wonderful, but as we saw how the disease and its treatment ravaged his body, the time we shared with them became bittersweet. The days before and after he passed away were some of the most challenging days of my life. He was awarded the Airmanââ¬â¢s Medal, which is the highest medal given by the Air Force for valor out of combat. The accompanying citation reads: Airman First Class William A. Hand distinguished himself by heroism involving voluntary risk of life at Titan II Missile Complex 373-4, Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, on 9 August 1965. On that date, Airman Hand entered into an area where fire had trapped 53 men, in an attempt to rescue any survivors. Despite visibility of less than one foot in smoke and toxic fumes and the danger of further explosion and fire, Airman Hand persisted in his efforts to s earch out survivors until it was proven that there were none, showing outstanding leadership and a complete disregard for his own safety while making these attemptsâ⬠¦ This is a perfect illustration of how Papa lived his life, doing all he could for the benefit of others regardless of how it affected him. Although I did not hear this story from him personally, I learned many things from Papaââ¬â¢s actions at the Missile Complex. I now look at the big picture more than I did before Papa died. In that tragic accident at the Missile Complex, the ââ¬Å"big pictureâ⬠could have affected many more lives. His extraordinary acts of selflessness have motivated me to be all I can be for myself as well as others. I am now more cognizant that everything I do in life affects other people in some way. In spite of the tough-guy image Papa liked to portray to other adults, with kids it was a totally different story. He became like a grandpa to every kid he met, especially the kids who rode the special needs bus he drove for the Cheney School District. To them, he was ââ¬Å"Papa Billâ⬠or ââ¬Å"Mr. Billâ⬠and he always had a high-five for every student who got on and off his bus. Papa listened to them, he was sensitive to their needs, and treated them with respect. By his example with people of all ages, I learned that a little caring goes a long way and itââ¬â¢s not whatââ¬â¢s on the outside that counts; itââ¬â¢s whatââ¬â¢s on the inside that matters. Watching Papa work was an experience. Even when he worked at home, he always had to make sure everything was organized, prepped, and done correctly without skipping any steps. While Papa was in the Air Force, there was no such thing as a five day, forty-hour week. He worked hard until the job was completed and took pride in every single project he undertook. Maybe Papa is the reason I strive for perfection. Like him, I prefer to have a set plan for any task in which Iââ¬â¢m involved and I want it to be done correctly without cutting any corners. Papaââ¬â¢s work ethic taught me about perseverance and giving 100% to every endeavor in order to achieve my goals. In every job he held, Papa was a team player. Early in my childhood, he helped teach me the value of teamwork and encouraged me to be the best I could be for myself and my teammates. As a family member, student-athlete, and employee, I strive to be a contributing member of the team. Papa taught me that every single person is important; even when one person excels, it is the team effort that enables that person to shine. I have also learned that the ability to work with diverse groups of people is an asset in every area of life. I miss Papa and feel his loss deeply. Life is a precious gift; I never realized how precious it is or how quickly it can end until Papa died. There is not a day that goes by when I donââ¬â¢t think about him. I am so thankful he was my Grandfather and played such an active part in my life. Sometimes I wish he was still here to give me advice, give me emotional support, or just to give me a hug and say ââ¬Å"I love you.â⬠I choose to honor him and myself by working hard to achieve my goals, by caring enough to be a team-player, and by having an altruistic approach to life. That is Papaââ¬â¢s legacy.
