The Physical Aspect Of A Machine - 974 Words
1. To answer this question in a short statement, I do not know if those around me are conscious human beings in one decisive manner. Some ways in which we could distinguish each other as humans or as machines can be no longer usable over time. In the movie, Ex Machina, Ava could be physically seen as a machine, for most of her â€Å"skin†was transparent. This was then hidden by what I assume is synthetic skin, similar to the other A.I.s. So the visual component was then being put under question, for the outside appearance would seem just as human as someone you pass on a street. Which is why when the main character took a blade to himself, to see if he was machine underneath versus human, I could very much understand the needed reassurance. This physical aspect can be portrayed in many different scenarios but leads to a very unreliable test of who is human versus who is a machine. The next consideration to distinguish a machine is one having a fault in their thought process, or one revealing that they are programmed to think and feel. Granted, this point isn’t very reliable for new â€Å"updates†as shown in the movie can be done to the software or the machine’s â€Å"brain,†leading to these un-human like qualities, to be fixed. Three medium-scaled firms and 229 people filled the questionnaire at the textile industry. SPSS 20 packaged software was used for the data analysis regarding the research aim of motivation techniques implemented by managers to measure the efficiency of textile industry workers. The data was validated through safety and validity analysis and frequency variance. The sampling method was appropriate where the authors did not consider a large population and rather focused on a small population that was easy to survey. In another study conducted by Fiaz et al. (2017), this sampling method was used to study the impact of leadership style in motivating employees. This small group was helpful as it represented all categories of the participants and chose the best sample for the study from the entire population. Another factor is the income group of the employees. In this, different motivation tools had an impact on the results of the study. As discussed earlier, the psychology tool was useful in influencing the low-income group as the psychosocial support provided by the workplace motivated them. In a similar manner, managerial and organization tools were also useful for motivating the employees. The managerial personality also plays an important role in the in motivating the employees. The managers who have a positive attitude towards motivating employees enhanced their efficiency at the textile industry. This shows that organizational behaviour plays an important role in motivating employees as positive working environment enhances employee retention as they feel motivated (Barrick, Mount Li, 2013). I think the research study clearly showed that motivation techniques enhanced employee efficiency and as a result, the organizational productivity. The managerial personal traits were also studied along with the perceptions of the employees regarding the motivation tools. When a manager motivates an employee in a positive manner, there inculcates a feeling of achievement in the employees to perform work and in recognizing their potential to perform a particular task (Grant, 2013). There is also possibility of further growth and achievement along with sense of responsibility and trust among the employees regarding their work performance. Managers have the potential to understand the personalities and individual hidden powers and therefore, they are the right person to make the employees motivated. In the similar manner, the study results showed that employees are motivated depending on the personal traits of the managers. Emotional stability, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness , customer service and optimism were the personality predictors that were identified by the study measuring the employee performance depending upon managerial performance (Taubman-Ben-Ari Yehiel, 2012). However, this was not included in the questionnaire and therefore, acted as a limitation of the study. My family and I were always really close to him and saw him practically everyday, so it was very hard for us when we were informed that he had cancer. After he was diagnosed, Papa and Nanny, my grandmother, decided to move in with us and build onto our home. Seeing him and spending time with him every day was wonderful, but as we saw how the disease and its treatment ravaged his body, the time we shared with them became bittersweet. The days before and after he passed away were some of the most challenging days of my life. He was awarded the Airman’s Medal, which is the highest medal given by the Air Force for valor out of combat. The accompanying citation reads: Airman First Class William A. Hand distinguished himself by heroism involving voluntary risk of life at Titan II Missile Complex 373-4, Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, on 9 August 1965. On that date, Airman Hand entered into an area where fire had trapped 53 men, in an attempt to rescue any survivors. Despite visibility of less than one foot in smoke and toxic fumes and the danger of further explosion and fire, Airman Hand persisted in his efforts to s earch out survivors until it was proven that there were none, showing outstanding leadership and a complete disregard for his own safety while making these attempts†¦ This is a perfect illustration of how Papa lived his life, doing all he could for the benefit of others regardless of how it affected him. Although I did not hear this story from him personally, I learned many things from Papa’s actions at the Missile Complex. I now look at the big picture more than I did before Papa died. In that tragic accident at the Missile Complex, the â€Å"big picture†could have affected many more lives. His extraordinary acts of selflessness have motivated me to be all I can be for myself as well as others. I am now more cognizant that everything I do in life affects other people in some way. In spite of the tough-guy image Papa liked to portray to other adults, with kids it was a totally different story. He became like a grandpa to every kid he met, especially the kids who rode the special needs bus he drove for the Cheney School District. To them, he was â€Å"Papa Bill†or â€Å"Mr. Bill†and he always had a high-five for every student who got on and off his bus. Papa listened to them, he was sensitive to their needs, and treated them with respect. By his example with people of all ages, I learned that a little caring goes a long way and it’s not what’s on the outside that counts; it’s what’s on the inside that matters. Watching Papa work was an experience. Even when he worked at home, he always had to make sure everything was organized, prepped, and done correctly without skipping any steps. While Papa was in the Air Force, there was no such thing as a five day, forty-hour week. He worked hard until the job was completed and took pride in every single project he undertook. Maybe Papa is the reason I strive for perfection. Like him, I prefer to have a set plan for any task in which I’m involved and I want it to be done correctly without cutting any corners. Papa’s work ethic taught me about perseverance and giving 100% to every endeavor in order to achieve my goals. In every job he held, Papa was a team player. Early in my childhood, he helped teach me the value of teamwork and encouraged me to be the best I could be for myself and my teammates. As a family member, student-athlete, and employee, I strive to be a contributing member of the team. Papa taught me that every single person is important; even when one person excels, it is the team effort that enables that person to shine. I have also learned that the ability to work with diverse groups of people is an asset in every area of life. I miss Papa and feel his loss deeply. Life is a precious gift; I never realized how precious it is or how quickly it can end until Papa died. There is not a day that goes by when I don’t think about him. I am so thankful he was my Grandfather and played such an active part in my life. Sometimes I wish he was still here to give me advice, give me emotional support, or just to give me a hug and say â€Å"I love you.†I choose to honor him and myself by working hard to achieve my goals, by caring enough to be a team-player, and by having an altruistic approach to life. Ms. William's believe that hunting or killing of animals is murder, murder, murder. In this essay she states point blank that she is completely against hunting of any kind and for any reason. I can sympathize with her love and appreciation of animals, as I am a true animal lover and enthusiast. I am also, however, a rancher who Ms. William's ridiculed in her essay. I firmly believe in hunting over-populated game and predators of our livestock. I feel that hunting is a necessary act to keep a balance in our ecosystem between the people and animals of our world. Ms. Williams makes many true and dramatic statements in her highly sarcastic essay, berating all hunting of any kind. Ms. William's does not offer any solutions to overpopulated animals or protecting people from dangerous animals. I do believe that hunting serves a valuable purpose in keeping balance in our environment and pr otecting our lands. I have never personally killed a creature, and I probably never will. I have a love of animals and enjoy seeing them in their natural habitat. Like Ms. Williams stated, I do not believe that animals exist to satisfy my wishes to kill them. I love to wake up on a cool winter morning and look out my bedroom window and see thousands of Canadian Geese nesting in my pastures behind my house, and I get great pleasure in driving into my ranch in the mountains and seeing a doe and fawn drinking water from the lake. Seeing the wild turkeys running around, strutting their stuff because it is breeding season is another favorite time of year. I enjoy the wildlife and nature and protect it more than most people could imagine. Being lucky enough to witness nature first hand an own a piece of nature, I have also seen the destruction and danger first hand. I have witnessed the damage an overpopulated herd of pigs can do to our pastures. I have come in contact on horseback with bears and mountain lions and feared for my life. I have seen the deer populations plummet because mountain lions have become overpopulated due to government regulation. Not only do they harm their own species by running out of food, water and environment, they disrupt the balance of the other species they cohabitate with. When the mountain lions are over populated; the deer soon are under-populated, as a result there arent enough deer to feed all the mountain lions and they start feeding off species they wouldnt normally prey on. This is when most mountain lions venture toward people and homes. Balance is the key to a happy environment. On our ranch in the mountains, wild pigs are abundant. They tear up our land by rooting in every soft piece of pasture they can find. They also multiply like rabbits, or should I say pigs. They tend to have 5-10 piglets in each litter and have several litters per year. My brothers and friends hunt the wild pigs on a regular basis. We do have all the meat cut and wrapped, eat some of it, and donate some to less fortunate people. We feel a responsibility to eat what we take from the land. We are also keeping the populations in check and protecting our land from their abuse. There is no way we would or could ever eliminate the wild pigs, but we do what is necessary to keep it from getting out of hand. In her essay, Ms. William's offers no solutions to control animals becoming overpopulated or urban encroachment. While it is well and good to have a touchy feely view that no animal should be killed, it is unrealistic to think that we will just let the animals roam free and overpopulate. Nature is intended to have hunters and the hunted. In certain species, the only predator is the human. This syndrome is described as an unexplained death of an infant younger than one year of age. SIDS is frightening because it can strike without warning and affect a good, healthy infant. Most SIDS deaths occur at night and without warning. SIDS victims may have been down for sleep for as little as ten minutes, they show signs of struggle or suffering. In the years 1955 62, Khrushchev was genuinely committed to peaceful coexistence. Peaceful co existence is the idea that the two superpowers in the world, the USSR and the USA can accept each other’s ideologies and consequentially their satellite states in the interests of peace, whether Khrushchev was entirely committed to this notion is debatable due to his ‘behind the scenes’ actions between 1955 and 1962. The Austrian state treaty of 1955 seemed to show Khrushchev’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, but his aggression after the U2 spy plane incident of 1960 and the gamble with peace over the Berlin wall in 1961 and Cuba in 1962 suggest his commitment to peaceful coexistence was not genuine, but a delay tactic until opportunities to show the USSR system was superior to capitalism arose. Khrushchev was committed to something more along the lines of ‘peaceful competition’ whereby the soviet union could gain an economic and without the need for a hot war, rather than peaceful co existence where both global superpower s really engaged in tolerance for either ones ideologies. When Khrushchev attained power in 1953 he advocated the de Stalinization of the Soviet Union during a speech at the 20th congress of the soviet party. This political message of denouncing Stalinism seemed to advocate a new era of Soviet foreign politics based on toleration to the western bloc of capitalist countries. A political example of Khrushchev’s genuine attempts at peaceful coexistence is attending international peace conferences such as The Geneva summit in 1955 which conveys the initial attempts of bridging the gap between the fundamental ideological divisions of Soviet Russia and the United States. This may be an attempt by the Soviet Union to reduce the hostility of the Capitalist world as they were apprehensive of the foundations of Marxist Leninist Russia which they perceived plotted a Global Revolution. However this interpretation would have been incorrect as the fundamentals of  Marxism was to encourage internal bureaucratic revolutions through the working class in order to liberate themselves from oppression rather than direct military action. This may be in the military and social interest of preventing or at least reducing the possibility of Mutually assured destruction by means of Nuclear warfare which was a very strong possibility. This can be seen with the signing of the Austrian State treaty of 1955 that allowed Austria to become a neutral zone which expresses a serious attempt at diplomatic and peaceful methods by the SU. Furthermore it was these arguments that Khrushchev would use in the Geneva summit to convey the genuineness of his attempt to move away from intro national warfare from one external Socialist state into a Capitalist one, and therefore rejected this Stalinist approach that occurred with the Satellite states of Eastern Europe by invasion of the Red Arm y. However on the contrary, Khrushchev maintained the satellite states as a cohesive political and economic unit that further added to the bipolar international system. This was evident with the establishment of the Warsaw Pact on 14th of May 1955 was a collective defense treaty of Communist nations within the Soviet sphere of influence. This portrays the lack of commitment to true peaceful coexistence as it meant that Khrushchev created an adversary to NATO, whilst also being militarily aggressive in order to dominate in central and eastern Europe and this can be seen with the quelling of the Hungarian Uprising in 1956 as soviet soldiers lead to the death of 2500 Hungarians and an overthrow of the government. This shows the imperialistic nature of the Soviet Union and not of truly peaceful cohabitation by clearly dividing the world on  the wider Cold War basis by intrusive political and military intervention. It seems contradictory to the previous peaceful concessions made by the Soviet Union at the Geneva Summit and this shows how the Soviet Union were still trying to maintain an advantage over the Capitalist world rather than accepting a diplomatic change. This can be deduced as an attempt to build on Soviet power whilst also trying to repress American power through far less than peaceful methods. Furthermore tension was at it’s highest following the military actions of the Soviet Union prior to the Cuban Missile in 1962. For example Khrushchev created a physical and metaphorical barrier that divided Eastern and West germany yet also divided the Capitalist and Communist worlds. This was evident with the erection of the Berlin Wall on 13th August 1961. This was done in order to prevent the massive emigration of East German population that reached up to 3.5million before the wall was built. This socially would leave the Soviet Union short in man power of the working class that was an industrial city that provided much revenue and weaponry for the Red Army. Furthermore many educated members of the population left that left on the basis of political reasons rather than the materialistic reasons, such as poverty and poor living conditions. This shows Khrushchev’s attempts at creating a politically divided Europe and represents the Soviets were determined in not allowing one inch of land to be won by their adversaries and may have prompted them, the US, to respond aggressively through military action. Also the deployment of missiles in Cuba also created an atmosphere of hostility and potential for mutually assured destruction through an aggressive geostrategic maneuver to gain an advantage over the USA whilst also trying to arm and strengthen a communist ally that was only miles away from the United States’ coastline. Many Historians have said this is the closest the world has come to nuclear warfare.

Poem Comparison †Telephone Conversation Essay
The context of this poem is of a black man from Africa trying to find accommodation, it is based on his experiences as a student in the 1960’s. The poem is written from the perspective as a phone discussion between him and a landlady. The main problem in this poem is that there is a huge amount of racism show by the landlady to the African – ‘How dark? Are you light or very dark?’ This shows immediately that the landlady has something against coloured people and can’t have a conversation without knowing the skin colour of the man. It also seems that the landlady would prefer the man not be coloured than to rather receive money for the accommodation. The impression we get from the landlady tells us that she is a very racist and ignorant woman. She first shows this after the man mentions he’s an Africa, which she doesn’t reply to – ‘Silence, silenced transmission of pressurised good breeding.’ The silence shows us her simple summary of her response of having to think twice about accommodating the black man. She shows that she has a sense of racism in her – ‘Considerate she was, varying the emphasis – Are you dark? Or very light?’ This tells us that the landlady is trying to imagine all the colours he could be and shows she judges people totally on colour. We also see that she is wealthy and cares about her image a lot – ‘Lipstick coated, long gold – rolled cigarette holder piped.’ From the view of the man he would think she is also a snob due to the way she is speaking to him and her questions. When the conversation starts it begins normally but is changed completely when the man says he is African – ‘Self confession – I am African.’ This suggests that the mans skin colour is a sin which he is guilty of. He also feels that he needs to defend himself even before the woman has started to ask any questions. Then after the landlady asked him how dark he was he didn’t know how to respond to her – ‘Button A, Button B,’ this shows us that the man is shocked and confused to answer the question just asked. After the man realises that the landlady has a sense of racism in her, he begins to become angry and compares it to the environment he is in – ‘Red booth, red pillar box, red double tiered.’ The red that he is describing represents his feelings which means he is angry and the environment seems repulsive to him. When the man says – ‘Like plain or milk chocolate’ he is talking about his skin colour and at the same time making a clever joke out of it. He is also mocking the landlady and showing her that he is not going to put up with the racist questions anymore. This shows that he is beginning to twist the conversation and is now the person who is asking the questions. He shows this when he says his colour is ‘West African Sepia’ and then asking her if she knew his skin colour. But as ‘West African Sepia’ isn’t a colour it tells us that the man is using his knowledge to make a fool of her. This makes him feel better due to the fact that he is now criticising her. Also, he feels he wants to make her feel the same way he felt when he had to answer the racist questions. The attitude of the man changes at the end of the poem from being a polite and respectful to an angry and rude man. But he changes his attitude because of the landlady’s judgement of him and decided to show his angry and rage to show that he is not a weak person. The man is now making fun of her and is mocking her at more length when he speaks about his colour – ‘Don’t you know what it is? That’s dark, isn’t it?’ He then starts to be rude by offering to show his bottom under the pretence of suggesting she meets him before judging – ‘My bottom raven black, wouldn’t you rather see for yourself.’ He does this to make her feel uncomfortable as he was before and tried to put her in a complicated position. The control of power in the beginning of this poem was in the hands of the landlady as she owns the house and is offering the accommodation to the man. As the poem continues her power begins to decrease as the man reverses the situation as he starts to mock her. By the end of the poem the man has gained all the power from the landlady and is so powerful the landlady talks but only when she is asked a question. I think the poet wrote this to show that people who seem to be weak like the African man could be clever enough to gain power. Also, people who are foreign to a country still believe they have rights to fight back to unpleasant comments. You Will Be Hearing From Us Shortly The context of this poem is based on an interview for a position at a company. The interview includes the ‘interviewer’ and ‘interviewees’. The poem is written from the perspective of the interviewer asking questions to the candidates. The main problem in this situation is that there is a sense of prejudice shown by the interviewer to the candidates. Also, the candidates are not being treated fair to even be considered the position at the company. Another problem is that in the poem people are judged on looks and appearance instead of their knowledge and potential. The impression we get from the interviewer is that she wants the interviewee to know that she is in charge and is the only person asking the questions. This is shown in the first stanza when she immediately asks her questions, which shows she has a much more superior attitude than the interviewees – ‘You feel adequate to the demands of this position’. This shows from the start-off that the interviewer is in control and doesn’t show any manners to wait for a response but instead asks the next question. The character of the interviewer develops into being rude and also she doesn’t pay attention to the interviewee’s emotions or feelings. She shows that she is rude when she questions their looks and abilities – ‘Find your appearance, disturbing?’ She also is more direct in asking questions and doesn’t hesitate of their reaction this is show hen she questions their accent – ‘And your accent that is the way you have always spoken, is it?’ This gives us the impression that she is insulting the speech of the interviewee. The poet makes us think that the candidate is really weak and doesn’t show any sign of defending herself. Also, whenever the interviewer finishes asking a question she also replies for the candidates – ‘So glad we agree, Quite so.’ This shows that they are so powerless they can’t be able to answer for themselves. It also shows us that the interviewees seem that they don’t care about receiving criticism and do not have the power to stand up and respond. The character of the candidate develops into being more weaker than she is already. She receives more and more criticism from the interviewer and never has the chance to respond due to the interviewers power – ‘What of your education? Where were you educated?’ This shows the interviewer is now not even giving the courtesy of a response and instead goes straight onto the next question, showing the interviewee’s lack of importance to her. The control of power in this poem was in the hands of the interviewer in the beginning. As the poem continues her power gets stronger and stronger and becomes so strong that at a point you’d forget that the candidates are even present. By the end of the poem the interviewer still has all the power possible in the interview and uses it to great effect against the interviewees. I think the poets reasons for writing this poem is to show people that a person who is in a powerful enough position to make judgements of people can have even more power by showing it and using it to their advantage.

It is the collection, transport, processing or disposal, managing and monitoring f waste materials. The term usually relates to materials produced by human activity, and the process is generally undertaken to reduce their effect on health, the environment or aesthetics. Separation of recyclable, biodegradable and non-biodegradable is also imposed. The local government unit of the city also increased the number of the street sweepers to maintain the cleanliness of the surroundings. The status of the problem Until this day, the whole country and even the world is suffering from the effects of the improper waste disposal. The world is still crying and hoping to overcome this situation from now and then. But, the government is still looking for right, exact and appropriate thing or solution to do to erase this problem from the long lists of problems to be solved. Recommendations The government or even the lowest officer in a barraging should show their selves as an example. See the main reasons why the test freaks students out and what to do about it. ACT and SAT anxiety and worry can be conquered, and we show you how. Problem #1: High Stakes This one’s obvious: the SAT makes people nervous because it counts for so much. High school seniors face some of the most stressful transitions in lifethe last chance to do so many high school things (go to prom, help take the tennis team to regionals), plus all the scariness of applying to schools, keeping GPAs up, facing life without parents. It’s a lot to handle, so it’s crazy to throw all your SAT prep on there as well, especially if you are prone to anxiety. Solution #1: Take it early, and more than once. For maximum anxiety-reducing results, take the SAT for the first time a year before you have toin 11th gradeor even in 10th. Think of it as a test run, but do some prep beforehand. Then take it again in 12th grade if you need to, and by that point, it’ll seem like no big deal. (Or, at least, like less of a big deal.) If you’re taking Trigonometry, Calculus, or even Algebra II, you’re not learning anything in school that will help with the SAT Math section; that stuff happened in 7th-9th grades. As for Reading and Writing, the SAT tests specific enough skills that it probably won’t overlap much with what you’re doing in English class. But most importantly, when you take it a year early, you’re far away from the urgency of college applications; thus, your anxiety will be minimized, and you also learn how the process works so you can be more relaxed if and when you take it again later in the year. Problem #2: Secrecy The ETS runs the test like an NSA operationyou can’t even use mechanical pencils for fear you’ll sneak cheat sheets in. The requirements of photo IDs and not touching any belongings during the test can make some students feel like they’re under suspicion of something. But it’s really just a result of Problem #1: because the stakes are so high, people will go to any lengths to cheat on the test; the photo ID requirement, for example, is in response to people sending others in their place to take the test for them. Solution #2: Understand the ETS and the context of the test. The SAT has been around for almost 100 years, and for most of that time it was a very imperfect indicator of college readiness that was overused. Its imperfection, and its role in American higher education, are the reasons for the prison-lockdown style security around the test today. Tests make some people desperate, and to keep it fair, the ETS feels they need to respond to cheaters’ new methods. But you’re not a cheater, and you’re going to be ready, so you can ignore all the weird secrecy stuff and just pretend you’re fulfilling a requirement for school. Problem #3: Fear of the Unknown The SAT was designed to test aptitude (although it no longer claims to do so) without students knowing what they were being tested on. This means that the question types and answer choices can be totally baffling if you’re unfamiliar with them. That’s why even the College Board offers free practice materials. Solution #3: Prepare! During the Vietnam War, in 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono held two, week-long Bed-ins, as a radical form of protest against the unpopular war. Although physically away from the United States they still managed to make a significant contribution to the anti-war state of opinion with the help of the print press and electronic media. However a music star's engagement in political life was at that time a rather rare phenomenon therefore most newspapers and magazines mocked the absurdity of his undertaking which only reinforced the Bed-in's rock-and-roll identity. The couple decided to use their wedding as the opportunity to express their solidarity the peace-loving community of the world staging a week-long Bed-In for peace in Amsterdam in 1969 during their honeymoon. However, when they could not follow the Amsterdam Bed-In with a similar event in the U.S. due to John's precarious visa eligibility at the time, they chose Montreal across the Canadian border as the next venue for their unusual project. Lennon told the reporters that his marriage was bound to make headlines anyway, so why not turn the occasion into what he called 'an advertisement for peace' (Charlesworth 1976) The atmosphere of this interview and the introductory comment were written in a sympathetic tone.

Scarlet Letter Essay -- Literary Analysis, Hawthorne
After the death of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s character Dimmesdale from the book the Scarlet Letter, there have been many theories about the cause of his death. Some literary analyzers claim that his guilt was the cause of his death. Others say that Roger Chillingworth, a physician, poisoned him with Atropine and Scopolamine. In Nathaniel Hawthorne’s book The Scarlet Letter, Dimmesdale’s guilt appears to be the cause of his death, but his symptoms point towards Atropine and Scopolamine poisoning. In The Scarlet Letter, all the symptoms Dimmesdale experiences provide evidence that he is poisoned with Atropine and Scopolamine. The action of gripping hard at the breast leads readers to believe that Dimmesdale is poisoned with Scopolamine and Atropine. Gripping hard at his breast is a cardio vascular symptom which is associated to Scopolamine and Atropine poisoning. Shafer points out that â€Å"he was often observed, on any slight alarm, to put his hand over his heart, with first a flush and then a paleness, indicative of pain†(qtd. in Hawthorne 88). Scopolamine and Atropine poisoning causes pain in the chest therefore Dimmesdale’s symptom is one of chronic intoxication. Shafer quotes Hawthorne saying how the gripping of the chest â€Å"had now become a constant habit, rather than a casual gesture, to press his hand over his heart†(qtd. in Hawthorne 88). Because Dimmesdale forms the constant habit of putting his hand over his heart, it shows that he constantly has pain in his chest and is being gradually poisoned. Other symptoms of Scopolamine and Atropine poisoning that Dimmesdale experiences are gait disturbances, tremors, and convulsions. Shafer mentions that Dimmesdale has a nervous â€Å"despondency in his [Dimmesdale’s] air†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (qtd... ...n occur. If overdosed, Atropine can cause very serious consequences but fatalities from Atropine poisoning are very rare but can occur in adults and children. Atropine is the safest alkaloid of all the potential alkaloids. Since death caused by Atropine alone is very rare, the fatal dose has not medically been discovered. Although The Scarlet Letter makes readers believe that Dimmesdale died of guilt, there is enough medical evidence to prove that he was poisoned by Scopolamine and Atropine. Not only is there enough evidence of the poison, there is also evidence on how Chillingworth caused his death.
